Park of Fundone

The Union of Towns of the territory of Coros, within the scope of its Territorial Development Programme, is financing a project aimed at giving value to the environment of the Park of Fundone and Badde Othieri. The project aims at safeguarding natural areas and their public accessibility in total respect and harmony with nature, particularly, the aspect of maximum accessibility and the possibility of a network. The main objectives are the safeguarding and enhancement of native flora; the creation of spaces for socialisation, the creation of paths inside the park and the development of panoramic paths to connect the various sites of particular natural and cultural value, going beyond architectural and psychological barriers. Additionally, the plan includes the creation of light structures such as nature paths, or support structures such as observation huts for fauna and panoramic viewpoint areas. In particular, concerning the Park of Fundone, the accesses from Rione Littos Longos will be improved, together with the internal traffic system and a dedicated dog area, divided into four sections according to dog size. Also cultural spaces will be created for the summertime and a space for shows and exhibitions of paintings will be set up inside the historic centre. Moreover, a space will be designated for civil weddings, the light system will be improved and system of video cameras will be installed to prevent acts of vandalism.
