Sant’Antonio Park

The Park of Sant’Antonio is located outside the town in an area called Su Padru, not far from the residentialarea of Uri. With a total area of twenty-seven hectares, it is a vast and impressive natural landscape. Visitors can enjoy and admire the old pine forest surrounded by Mediterranean scrubland, as well as the valley of the river “Carrabosu”. Near the area there is an abandoned quarry of trachyte stone, the disused bauxite mine and the archaeological remains of several nuraghe (tn* large megalithic, tower-shaped, prehistoric stone structures found in Sardinia, dating from the second millennium BC to the Roman conquest). The site is at a short distance from the centre of Uri, connected by the environmentally sustainable bike path that links Ittiri-Putifigari/S’Incantu-Alghero. At the moment the park has a picnic area, toilet facilities and a playground. Shortly, it will also be subject to a complete redevelopment, including the addition of health and aromatic paths, as well as a motor cross track and a wide covered area.
